Eason is a winner until he's not. Hope this helps.
So until this Saturday. Got it.

Yes on Eason. If Browning delivered and his team won two tight games, which he's never done, I'd feel differently about Browning.

Either way, Eason is the better QB. He went to HS in Washington. UW wanted him, but couldn't close him.
So it's a plus for Eason that he sucked for most of four quarters against two shit teams and then barely pulled it out in the end (well actually Lambert had to come in for the last series against Nicholls but who is counting.)
You would have benched Billy Joe Hobart
How many games did UW lose with Hobart at the helm, Race?
My point is he would look like shit for three quarters then win

    Like the Nebraska game?

    0. Old fuckers like us remember what winners looked like and most importantly what winners actually did.

Eason has the highest ceiling of any HS QB ever to come out of the state of Washington. Peterman didn't get him. Our current guy so far has caved under pressure.
while Eason so far has delivered in crunch time and has a higher ceiling.

And Eason is surrounded by substantially better talent than Browning was as a true frosh ... simple truth.

as mentioned elsewhere, Browning put the team in position to tie the game at Boise and if it wasn't for fucktards not named him, in a great position to pull the game out.

put the team in position to tie?
So he was responsible for pettis' PR TD and the defensive shutout they pitched in the 2nd half?
Do you want to talk about the fact that Eason put up a goose egg offensively in the 2nd half UNTIL that drive? Probably doesn't fit the narrative.

The point being that the part where you're destroying Browning is because he has yet to lead a game winning drive at the end of the game. As others have pointed out, Browning put the team in a position to at least get a tie against Boise and the fuck ups in that situation had NOTHING to do with what he did. Which again, that probably doesn't fit the narrative.

Now, if you want to go game by game on Browning in the losses last year:

Vs. Cal: Last drive with the ball was a 1 yard gain by Browning, -2 yards on a sack, and then an INT on 3rd and 11 ... definitely not a good drive. Prior drive before that was a FG to get the game to a 1 score game and the drive before that was on pace to be a scoring drive as well before a DWash fumble. The drive before that was also a TD (and then Cal's possession was a fumble TD). So while the last drive was absolutely a turd, the 3 prior drives were all very solid by Browning.

Vs. Oregon: The Oregon game in an incomplete on Browning because in his last drive he scored a TD to bring the game to 1 score with 3:35 left in the game (plenty of time to get a stop and another score). However, Browning sustained an injury on the TD scoring drive and the final drive was handled by an inexperienced and overmatched Magna Carta.

Vs. Stanford: Didn't play ... not in a position to lead a game winning drive

Vs. Utah: Not a great weather day where UW was playing catch up from the get go being down 21-6 in the 2nd quarter. Browning had 2 drives in the game that can be pointed to ... one at down 24-23 and one down 31-23 in the 4th quarter. In the first drive, that was a 3 play for -6 yard drive that ended in a punt. The plays there were a -2 yard play by Browning (sack) with a fumble recovered by UW, then the questionable PI play on Perkins that moved them back another 15 yards, another sack for -6, before Gaskin ran for 17 yards or something like that. The next series started with an 11 yard pass for a first down before Browning lost a fumble on a sack by Kyle Fitts. This is exactly the type of play that has been talked about on the TSIO Podcast and the chief concern of @Dennis_DeYoung of the success of this team going forward this year.

@ ASU: UW was outscored 24-0 in the 2nd half and this is the #1 game where my criticism of Jonathan Smith was at obscene levels with how predictable his play calling was. The drives in the 2nd half consisted of a 3 and out (3 plays for -4 yards, sack), turnover on downs (7 plays for 40 yards), missed FG (10 plays for 61 yards), 3 and out (3 plays for -10 yards, sack), INT (6 plays for 31 yards) ... and once the game got to 27-17 ASU, INT (4 plays for 36 yards), Fumble (by Josh Perkins, 3 plays for 36 yards), and INT (possession started at 20 seconds left). This is the game where I think everybody really looks at Browning as panicking under the pressure with the turnover after turnover in the 2nd half. The reality is that this game was a fuck up on so many different levels starting in the 1st half with a boatload of missed plays that could have put the game away before half.

I do understand the criticism of Browning and his play has been definitely inconsistent in these types of situations. How much of it is because he's scared in those moments versus perhaps trying to do too much is probably debatable. Will we know how much he's grown in this area until he's faced with this situation this year ... probably not.

Circling back to Eason, for as much as some may want to look at things with Eason and use that as confirmation bias, the reality is that in his 2 games as a starter he's won the games by a grand total of 3 points versus Nichols and Mizzou ... probably 2 of the easier games on the Georgia schedule. If he can perform well this weekend at Ole Miss I'll be impressed. More likely to me though that they get spanked down there.

TL, DR: Fuck off on crowning Eason ... classic confirmation bias. Browning is far from perfect in "clutch" end of game situations but at the same time he had a lot of help in pissing some games away.

    Easy there turbo.

I like Eason and I'm mad we didn't get him. But if we did get him and someone was making these claims after a marginal win over Gary Fucking Pinkel you'd rightly mock the shit out of them.

    Slow you're role.

Vs the fighting Nicholls Colonels (coming off a rousing 3-8 season) who were playing in their first game of the year against Georgia's second, Eason was 11-20 for 204 with 1 TD and 1 Pick, and a rating of 147.2, leading Georgia to a 2 point win.

And a good victory by the winner considering Nicholls went on to beat Incarnate Word by 7 in their second game, proving their salt.

But hey, that's much better than Browning has done and you can't say enough about the competition.
